Default Help! 08 Accord at 160k first transmission fluid change

Hi,
My wife just informed me that though she has regularly kept up with oil changes and other interval services, the transmission has never been serviced and her 08 Accord is now at 160k miles. Yikes! We now have a 6 month baby to transport around and our transmission may be a ticking bomb. As expected, fluid is dark colored with burnt smell and small black contaminants. I will not be professionally flushing the system and will just be doing a 3 or 4 fill process at home. How do I properly fill and drain multiple times? After the first drain do I just replug, fill, turn on and shift through gears and then drain or do I actually need to back down off the ramps and go for a short drive between every drain fill sequence. If left on ramp, do I need to replug and cycle through gears or just drain and refill?

Is there any kind of safe cleaner I should run through the first cycle? I read brake or carb cleaner somewhere may help as long as its fully drained out and I also have Marvels Mystery oil.

What type of transmission fluid should I use? It seems the DW1 is whats best to have but does it matter what type gets run through and drained the first few cycles? Anything else a DIYer should do/know to help save this neglected transmission? Thanks.

welcome to the forum. use honda oil only, nothing else. be aware that if you change the fluid, it is critical that you do not get any debri ( sealer ) inot the pan, the filter is small and screen can get plugged up. just drain and replace the fluid. if you do it once a year, its good.
