help driverside floor leak
 

i have a 2000 honda civic coupe and i have water soaking the floor due to this heavy rain in florida atm so i had to put it in the garage.. ive taken off the driverside fender and sealed the gromet that runs wires from the door to the body.. taken off the cowl and that all looks fine.. btw i do not have a sunroof.. i did have the windshield replace a month after i bought the car which was in march. the water seems to be coming from behind the hood release cable but above the gromet of wires from the door.. i can even hear the drips when it comes down and theres a trail of it just sliding down after it hits the sponge where the gromet goes.. any help would be greatly appreciated all i can think is that they didnt seat the windshield right

i'm gonna grab my camera and take some pictures of it now

its most likely coming from a bad seal on the windshield if thats the case it should have a warranty for leaking from the shop that installed the window take it up with them. alot of people don't realise the importance of a properly installed windshield. the windshield actually reinforces the roof in a roll over.

ty for the reply yeh it has a year warranty and im waiting for a call so they can come by today to do a re seal.. and just wondering are they supposed to remove the cowl for the install of the windshield because the guy didnt do that but a friend said they are suppose to?

he came out and did another air hose check and even sprayed window cleaner on the windshield to see if it would bubble up which it didnt.. so i sprayed the car while he looked under the dash in the area and he saw the leak. its coming from the gromet area where that little sponge is. theres a gap there.. is there supposed to be a gromet on the inside of the car that closes the sponge in?

I don't see a sponge in the pictures,a grommet is used to fill a hole where wires run from the cab to engine bay it should stop water from comming in but try squeezing a dab of silicone in the hole .

its on the side picture at the top its like a brownish sponge.. its coming from above that but inbetween two metal pieces heres a link of what i found online and what im doing now with the seal stuff and its a pain in the ass lol.. i have a bendy straw and im about to head back out but i'll take a couple pics and post them

heres some pics and you can see where the gromet goes into the body and the sponge behind it.. its coming from above that area i'm hoping the bendy straw up the oval area with some sealant might do the trick any input would be appreciated as im literally close enough to banging my head into a wall

looks like the previous owner went to town with silicone trying to stop the leak. obviously the car didn't come stock with a sponge stuffed in there i would devise a way to completely seal that broken gromet at least it looks broken anyway seal that bitch up.
