When I first start my 2016 CR-V and have the iPod (using a USB cable) or the Bluetooth audio source selected, my iPhone (iOS 15.6.1) starts to play from my available music (not even one of the defined playlists) and the Music app is not among the launched applications I can swipe to terminate. This is frustrating because more often than not I want to continue listening to an audiobook, so I have to launch the Audible application, wait for it load and then push the play icon to get it to start. At that point the music will fade out and be replaced by the book audio. On a series of errands, after I initially launch the audiobook when the car is first started, the audio book often continues playing when I start the car after most stops, but the music can sometimes start again; I can't predict when that will happen. Apple Support says configure it through CarPlay, but the 2016 CR-V doesn't support Apple CarPlay. (I had to find & enable CarPlay on my phone first, but then discovered this car doesn't support it.) I've seen the YouTube video on updating the firmware AND needing to disconnect the GPS cable to add CarPlay functionality, which I really don't want to do, especially the need to disconnect the GPS cable. I even bought the iPhone HDMI adapter which was a $40 waste; all that does is allow a few Honda apps to interact with the car. Does anyone know of a setting, either on the iPhone or the car, to stop this automatic music playing behavior and continue with what was selected previously?
