Need help

I have a 06 accord with the 2.4l. I attempted to change the timing chain tensioner and the pin fell out as I was removing it. It is now wedged in place. I can’t compress the plunger as I can’t reach it. What can I do? I really don’t want to pull the engine down. Any help at all. I thinking of trying to use a cut off wheel to cut it down to size. Obviously I would pack the engine with rags do no metal bits get in. Thoughts? I’m freaking out here. Thanks

One post is enough.
The pin would be in the new tensioner so I assume you mean the pin was pulled before you were ready. If so, remove the tensioner and use a vise to compress it and install the pin.

unfortunately it’s the old one that is stuck. The new one is still sitting in the box

What pin are you talking about? Get a picture or two of it.

I have this for you.
  1. Align the holes on the lock (A) and the auto-tensioner (B), then insert a 1.2 mm (0.05 in.) diameter pin or lock pin (P/N 14511-PNA-003) (C) into the holes. Turn the crankshaft clockwise to secure the pin.

  1. Remove the auto-tensioner.
