hi guys I just bought a 2009 honda civic EX and i'm pretty new for honda. recently I found a wired problem with my civic. the left area around the shifting **** (the area with Letter P R N D ) is getting hot after driving about 1hr.
is that regular or there is something wrong with mine?

 

That is about where the catalytic converter is located. Perhaps a visit to a muffler shop after your check you O2 downsteam numbers.
