Noise after timing belt/water pump replaced in my 97 Accord
After having my timing belt/water pump changed on my 97 Honda Accord 4 cylinder (82,000 miles), I am hearing an annoying whirring noise when lightly stepping on the gas. I brought the car back to the mechanic and he took everything apart and said that he found nothing wrong. DOes anyone have any suggestions - this noise is driving me crazy - please help!![:o]

welcome to the forum. If you want to try to find the whirring sound, go to a parts house and purchase yourself a stethascope (sp) like what the doctors use, but this one has various length rods to screw togeather to make it short or long. place it on various parts of the engine that you may think is making this whirring sound and listen. Caution, if you don't know what will turn on and off ( Fans ) don't stick the rod into the fan area. The whirring could be the fans turning on and off or when you turn the a/c on the 2nd fan goes on.

sounds like you have the same problem as me. i have a video posted on youtube, type in "honda accord timing belt noise" and youll find it. if the noise in the video is what your experiencing then it might be your power steering pump bearings, your power steering pump in general, or your timing belt being over tightened.
