Default Noise From Steering

Hi

I have Honda Civic 1.6 2002. it keeps weird "crackling" sound whole time specifically when i accelerate. Yesterday i had my car full of people the noise did get worse. First i believet that the clutch was making the noise but when i turned the steering wheel little pit it kept the "crackling" sound. Does somebody know what is possible wrong.

Aloha sebu: welcome to the forum and hope we might be able to assist you
how many miles do you have on your 02 civic, when you are at a stop and at idle, can you hear the crackling noise. Do you hear the crackling noise when you depress the clutch. Does the sound get louder when driving faster. Do you hear it when shifting gears. Take a look under the front of your car at the cv boots, should be total of 4, 2 on each half shaft. check to see if they are damaged, or missing. You mentioned you hear it when you turn your steering a bit driving fast or slow.
Try to give the best info to find out what the crackling sound is.

i have drive 58 000 km with my civic. It keeps the noise 90% of the time im driving, It doesnt matter do i drive fast or slow it keeps the noise and its always the same "crunch crunch".
My gearbox is working great and the clutch is working normal.
i have to check those cv boots. Its very difficult to say where is the noise coming.

When was the last time you changed your brake pads up front, when did the noise start, are your lug nuts torqued correctly, what type of tires do you have and what is the current tire pressure. Can you hear this noise sitting idle in your drive way, not driving. or only in gear moving.
