my 1998 Honda Civic EX seems to like skip when getting up to speed....i can hear a back fire sound i beleive coming out the front of my exhaust wherre the passenger will sit?? what may be the problam to fix it?

If you have high milage on the car, possibles are spark plug wire break down, spark plug weak, fuel injector clogging, valve clearence not correct.

well i have 80,000 miles on it...how much do you think of each of those items will cost if i have someone to replace them with no cost? and thanks by the way for answering that for me

If you go to autozone.com, register for free, you can get a better cost of the spark plugs, spark plugs wires, the fuel injectors can be cleaned by using a bottle or 2 of injector cleaner. Adjust valve clearence (if there are adjustments) need to call the repair shop to give est. valve cover gasket will be needed also.Go from the least cost to the most expensive, one step at a time.any questions, email me acmech52@yahoo.com
