Smart Key replacement

I have a 2017 Honda CR-V Touring. When I purchased the vehicle I was talked into buying the key replacement warranty by the salesman. He said I could get a free replacement key each year for 5 years. The service department at the dealer told me last week that Honda only allows 2 keys per vehicle due to the advanced technology (these are the smart keys with push button ignition.) The guy in the service department said if I can’t find one of my keys then when they program a new key it will disable the key that is lost. Is this true or if I find the key I’ve lost would it still work after I get the replacement key? Thanks!

I know Honda limits the number of smart keys that can be used.
And that going past the limit will knock out the old keys that were programmed for the vehicle.
Don't remember if that number was two.

A free key every year for 5 years?
Sounds like you could get a new key and not have to replace the old battery???
