Vehicle Stability Assist

I got into my 2012 pilot this morning and my VSA light was on, I know I need rear shocks, can the shocks cause the VSA light to come on?

the vsa works with your engine and selective brake application. p 189-200 in your owners manual explains how the system works also - 300.
