my roomate just got back from court in hinton regarding him and his gf speeding in their 03 or 04 honda accord in what they claim to be doing 190-230 KPH for a sustained time (i asked exactly figures 15-30 minutes)
they said the A/C cut out at 230 sending a big heat wave from the engine at them which was the time in which they decided to slow down, people reported a speeder and they were busted at the next gas station. they got 1700 dollars for excessive speeding and 2 month suspension.
and i forgot to mention this is a stock vehicle.
now his story to me does not add up. i dont see how its possible for a **** stock car to go upwards of 230 KPH and then continually sustain that speed for up to a maximum of 30 minutes, im not a car expert but it sounds like somethings gonna give in that engine way before you reach 30 minutes. i dont see how it couldnt have over heated or just shattered a piston or what not. or is this car a real sleeper and im wrong?
it sounds like they are seriously overexaggerating the story, i believe they were snagged at 190kph by the cops but i doubt they could sustain that speed for that period of time. possible? yes no?
the conditions were good, all clear and not too hot or cold

welcome to the forum. 230kilometers per hr is 142.915 miles per hr. I got this off from
"Shawn Honda Accord" 3.0 04 accord, top speed of 140mph. If your friend had a 244hp accord it may be possible to get top speed of 230km, he must have been driving in the red line or the max limiter might be off a bit. fine of 1700 is not unheard of, drive over the speed limit in Las Vegas = $1,000 fine automatic. Any speed over the speed limit!!!

ok, so the speed in the vehicle is possible, and the ticket amount is legitamite.
but is it really possible you could sustain the top speed in that vehicle for 15-30 minutes without the engine over heating or blowing something?
seems to be a stretch for me.
