1990 Accord Rack and Pinion

Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to replace my rack and pinion? The car is an LX sedan with automatic transmission...Anything else I should replace while the rack is out?

Thanks!

the rack and pinion on that car is supposedly a 8 hour job. its not difficult just sort of a pain. can i ask what the steering is doing?? because in my98 civic i could turn the wheel 1/4 to both sides and the wheels wouldnt start to turn till after that. i almost payed 1k for the whole new rack and pinion replacement untill i got under the car while someone turned the steering wheel. it turns out a 1.98$ alignment bolt had fell out. so insteak of 1k i payed 1$ and my car was fine.

The power steering is very weak, sometimes non-existent. Often I need to use brute strength to turn the wheel if the car is not moving. Also it often whines when I turn a corner. I have checked the power steering fluid and it seems to be full. I think it's just time to replace it. It won't be a problem for me to replace it, I was just wondering if there were any funny things I needed to watch out for and if I could do it in an afternoon.

Thanks!

its not too bad to replace one more thing you should check before replacing it is the pump unless youve already checked it. other that a million tiny parts you have to remove to get to the rack and pinion its not too bad.
