1991 Accord Automatic transmission problem
 

I have a 1991 Accord with an automatic transmission. The engine and trans were pulled from a '92 with 90,000 miles.
The problem issometimes the transmission shifts and kicksdown fine, other times, it will not kickdown at all and shifts thru all gears at about 3200 rpm at wide open throttle. The kickdown linkage is adjusted correctly from what I have read. It does not seem to make any difference if the engine is warm or cold.I have tried cleaning all of the electrical connections going to the transmission. I have checkedthe trouble codes, no transmission codes come up.

Any suggestions?

welcome to the forum, would you know if the 92 eng and trans ecu's were replaced in the 91? some of the ecu's were not the same #'s. Is your tps adjusted correctly, and is the exhaust system clear?

Thanks for the reply, the ecu's were not swapped over, but I can get them. The TPS looks to be properly adjusted, and the exhaust and cat looked to be clear. The engine runs very strong with no obvious issues.
I was wondering if the ecu's needed to be swapped with the engine, but was unsure if they were fully compatible with the '91 chassis.

Swapped over the engine and trans ECU's today, so far so good. I will post in a few days with updated info.
