1992 Accord Lx Stalling issue
My accord started stalling out on me right as I left the driveway the other day, check engine and battery light came on, and it started back up right away. I had to be somewhere out of state I couldnt miss so I just said a prayer and I was able to make the 200 mile trip there and back just fine. Next day I leave my driveway and stall out after a block, same lights came on and was able to start up again no problem than stalled out two more times trying to getting back home. Idling in park just fine and not having any bouncing idle.
Im getting trouble code 14 for the IAC valve. I took it off to inspect and it looks pretty clean but a previous owner had used what I suspect was High temp RTV gasket sealant to make a new gasket that is pretty much toast at this point. Is there a testing procedure I can do to make sure the valve is working as it should? Could the problem just be from the failed gasket? Thanks for your time. -Noah |
Stalls while driving or coming to a stop? That throttle body and IAC need to be very clean.

The IAC is not your problem. You may have an ignition switch or relay going bad. Loose wire?

When was the last time the spark plugs were changed?
Have you ever put injector cleaner in the gas tank? Is this a timing belt or timing chain engine?? |
