1992 honda accord automatic transmission problems

I have a 1992 accord ex with an automatic transmission and more than 250 000 miles in it. The tranny seems to accelerate sometimes while I am driving. First when I cold start the car and I start driving, it kicks in like I have stepped on the gas pedal, while I don't even touch the pedal. At this time if I shift it out to natural the motor revs up to 2500 rpm, then slowly it settles down to normal. While driving it, sometimes seems to add extra acceleration and again if I shift it out to neutral the rpm grows a bit then it settles back to normal. I feels like the pressure builds up in the tranny and then when I put it into neutral it evens out. Any suggestions what could cause this? It is becoming very annoying...
Thx for your help, my good friend is a mechanic but he hasn't heard of this kind of problem before...

Thank you for your reply. This problem seems to come from the transmission and I was hoping to get an advice from someone who has experienced the some kind of problem. To me it seems like a transmission problem and not the engine....

Transmission won't idle up,the torque converter can cycle in and out which seems like an increas in exceleration.

It's the idle control valve right on top of the injectors looks like a tubular with 2 wings on the side
