2008 Accord L4 Serpentine belt
I know there was a forum on this question about 8 years ago, for a Civic.
That said, I have a 2008 Accord LX-P with a 2.4 PZEV L4. I take really good care of it, using all synthetic oil every 3-5,000 miles at most, have the transmission serviced every 30,000, have done the PS and brake fluids, plus the coolant a few times. I put in NGK iridium plugs at about 50,000 miles, should I do those again? I get almost 32 mpg on the highway when averaging 80 mph, which seems to be good for me. With all that said, I have almost 130,000 miles on it, I am going to change the serpentine belt, should I also change the tensioner along with it? Is there anything else I should be considering, such as timing belt/chain? Do the newer Hondas really need timing belt changes? |
welcome to the forum. 08 accord 2.4 chain. i can only go by my own experience. 02 civic changed serpentine belt did not change tensioner. 235+k miles. 07 Fit changed serpentine belt 2x, 285k+ miles did not change tensioner. if it will give you peace of mind, good to change, then not have to worry about it for another 130k miles.
