2013 2.4L Accord starting sound
 

2013 Honda AccordEX CVT (auto) Sedan4 Cylinder 2.4 L (yes there was a TSB for 6 cyl)
106,4XX miles"Push button" start

Most frequently seems to start fine. Only when cold there is a noise that sounds like something rattling or loose immediately after car turns over. Here's some audio:

Never makes that noise after it's warm...or not nearly as noticeable.

Recently on just two occasions, the starter has continued to turn the engine ...until I release my foot from the brake. Then the engine takes over.

Starter?

Thinking about tackling myself .

when starting engine and the starter continues to turn, solenoid may be sticking. or ignition switch sticking if you have a lot of other keys attached to the honda key ring. the noise after start may be. loose exhaust shroud especially around the cat. rocker arms may need adjust. exhaust shroud cover.

Thanks... I thought of catalytic converter shield. I'll have to listen again. What I could see get/to seemed OK (not loose).
