A friend of mine has an automatic 1992 accord with 100,000 miles on it. Over the past few months it has not started a couple of times and had to be towed. The Fuel pump, fuel relay, distributer and some others have been replaced. Yesterday it decided it would not start in my driveway so I checked it out myself. The crank turns but the engine is not getting spark. The car also will not shift out of park with out unlocking the gearbox manualy. When in park the D4 light is on along with the park light, but when shifting through gears all lights light up correctly except the D4 light that does not light at all. If anyone has information or has had experience with a similer problem please help my out with some possiblilties of the problem. Thanks

 

Does anyone have any ideas or is this the first time somthing like this has ever happend to anyone? I cant find any info on this, im not an import guy and thought this would be the place to come.

 

Ive got an 89 Accord Lxi and i have a few shorts related to my lights on my gearBox...Probably just some poor wiring, or a short somewhere along the way. .Im not really an import guy either but i would check sparkplugs,fuses, connections, it could be all sourts of things. sorry i couldnt be to much of a help man, let me know when you figure it out.

 

have you checked your main relay, this will cause a car to start some times and not at others, this will especially happen when the car is warmed up, park to add gas and will not restart. after 10 - 15 min it will start and run ok. then after a shut down, it can start again and no problem.( The engine cranks but no start ) also have you checked your distributor coil.
