AC and heat work on settings 3 and 4, but not on 1 and 2
I also have a 2002 accord se with a new problem (AC and heat work on settings 3 and 4, but not on 1 and 2). I took it to midas and they checked it an said the blower motor resistor needs to be replaced. They said the part costs $200 and the total would be $300. I did some research online and found that you can fix it yourelf. The blower motor is under the glove compartment on the passenger side, but the pictures were from a 98 accord. Does anyone know if the blower motor is in the same location for the 02 accord? I found a new blower motor resister much cheaper on ebay. ummm
go to http://hondapartsnow.com they have the part for cheap but they also have the digrams and the instructions to install it |
thank you soooooo much. The part is only $52. Midas was going to charge $200 for the part and $100 for labor. I looked under the glove compartment and its just 2 screws holding the blower motor resistor. So it should be pretty easy. Thanks again!

This forum is Fantastic! It's listed under the heater/electrical as the blower motor resister! It solved the problem? |
Thanks, I also have a 2002 accord that had the transmission problems @ 60,000 miles, the car now has 155,000 on it now and is still going strong. My 1 and 2 settings also don't work, so thanks for letting me know how to fix mine as well :)

That was it! The blower motor resistor. It took me all of 20 minutes to replace it!
The Haynes Repair Manual confirmed it too! Ebay had a used one for $30, online for $78, and the dealer had it in stock for $90. CRaVer YOU are an ACE! |
