Default Can't activate XM

Howdy all,

We have a 2004 Accord exl with the V6 - love that car!

I'll try to make this story short, so here goes...

After just two months of owning the car the radio display went out. Took it to the dealer and had a new radio put in. Everything was fine, xm was transferred and all was well - for about two weeks. Then the xm started to work part time, and finally after a couple of weeks, we couldn't even get the sat mode. So back to Honda, another new radio, and now it seems to work fine, but I only get the 0,1,174, and 247 channels - just like the radio isn't activated. So I've called xm many many times, and all they can do is check the code in the radio and refresh the signal. And of course, blame it on Honda.

So is there any other trick to try? Could the code displayed on the radio be from the old one or maybe the wrong one? I know Honda sent back the old radio before getting the code from it, could they have messed something up?

Please help - we're going crazy!!!

Default RE: Can't activate XM

Hmm, seems this is a very uncommon problem.

As an update, XM did a complete shutdown and restart on their side twice. All this did was give us about three of the now free channels as part of XM's promotion.

Also did a restart of the car's electrical system (battery disconnect).

So I guess I'm back to the Honda dealer for the third time, perhaps for a receiver this time.
