Default climate control cable

It appears that my cable is all bunged up on my hot/cold temperature control on my 93 accord. We can get the aftermarket radio out below it easily, but is that the best way to approach this problem? Dash seems pretty complicated to remove that center console plate. Any tricks? Would you just straighten the cable and grease it or buy a new one as the old one may do it again? What is the best way to resolve this issue?
Thanks in advance
Suzy

you will need to take the instrument cluster bezel off from the left of the steering wheel to the temp control area to work the circular dial that the rod rides on, and if you can get a new cable, it may last longer. if you lube it, it can last for some time. I lubed and fixed mine on a 90 accord. be gentle with the bezel, old and brittle. You might get more info off of autozone with pictures and instructions on the repair side.
