Cruise control does not work

My cruise control has stopped working on my 97 accord .
I have replace the on/off switch on the dash, the resume/ set switch on the
steering wheel and the fuse is good .

Do you have any codes stored? I'd guess that the VSS is bad, especially if the speedometer has been jumpy.
