Cruise Control Stopped Functioning

2001 Honda Accord Coupe EX V6, 221K

I was trouble shooting the shift lock out not functioning (unless I over rode it with the manual release next to the shifter). Turned out to be a bad brake switch at the pedal. Was driving the car the next day, and the cruise control wont come on. The "on" indicator on the switch on the dash (to the left of the steering wheel) is lit, but the indicator on the instrument panel is not. Cycled the switch several times, still wont come on. Cruise does not engage from the switch on the steering wheel either. I verified the Fuse is good both visually and with a continuity tester. Couldn't locate any other blown fuses.

Thoughts?

check where the cable attaches to the unit under the hood and unscrew the cable from the unit and make sure the cable is centered, turn to the left count rotation, turn to the right count rotation, then center. sometimes the cable inside gets stuck at one end.

Which unit are you referring to? A cruise control mechanism? Sounds like you are referring to a speedometer

cruise control mechanism. unless they have gone to wireless then this won't work.
