Exclamation Exhaust!

Thinking about doing a cat delete with a test pipe. My check engine light is on and the code is for a bad catalytic converter. Would a cat delete, so long as I keep the stock muffler and resonator, result in a loss of horse power at all?

My city has no emissions testing regulations and it is for a track car.

A cat delete should not set a code, now if the cat is clogged it will.
