improving exhaust sound
i have a 2012 i4 accord coupe, completely stock and i was considering buying a magnaflow muffler and magnaflow resonator. wanted to sound a little nicer without going super loud like every other honda owner lol. combined with a k&n cai i was hoping for some nice sounds. does anyone else have a similar setup without a full catback? curious if this actually makes my grocery getter sound nice without the rasp or drone you’d get with a delete. thanks!

welcome to the forum. we had a 90 accord lx, the exhaust system was getting old and starting to have rust holes so we changed the exhaust pipe to 2 in and installed a magnaflow muffler but a open cat. sounded nice to us and others stated the same. we did have to change back to cat to pass smog. bolt in and out.

sweet man, thanks for the info. the more i look into it, the more i’m tempted to pull the trigger. think i’ll leave the cat to guarantee that i won’t have to go back and put it back on or anything, hopefully a new resonator in addition to the muffler can replicate that or at least contribute to the sound lol. appreciate the reply |
