Need help

Having a throttle issue. My tachometer keeps jumping between 100-1500 rpm and its using excess gas. I changed the tps sensor and gave a tune up and its still jumping. Any ideas or advise or would greatly appreciated thanks

year and motor size?
If it is at idle in park and it revs up and down constantly then it might be a o2 sensor.

That phenomenon is called "idle hunting", though you'll find it refereed to by other terms.

Firstly, any chance you did some work that required opening the coolant system? If so, perform a proper air purge procedure on the coolant system, then check your idle.

Carefully clean the idle air intake valve. Reinstall and evaluate. If the idle continues to fluctuate, replace the IACV.
Note: a Genuine Honda IACV is a pricey component--you'll be reasonably tempted to go with aftermarket. Just be forewarned that the Honda ECM doesn't play well with a non-Honda IACV. That said, I have had success with whatever vendor NAPA uses for it's Honda-compatible IACV.
