need transmission help please
 

I have a 96 accord dx 4cyl 2.2L with aoya tranny. I'm about to rebuild the tranny as the car only moves in reverse. I have never worked on a transmission aside from checking the fluid. I know i need a good amount of fluid and the tranny lube stuff but other than that, is the master rebuild kit all i need or would i need some other parts not included in the master rebuild kit? Also, does anyone have any tips or suggestions...other than telling me to take it to the shop. I am stubborn and won't pay 1500 or more to fix a 96 accord with about 280000 miles on it. Ill risk losing a few hundred dollars and hope i manage to pull it off myself correctly before buying a new car.

welcome to the forum... use only honda trans fluid, no after market. make sure the small filter is clean. this damages a lot of trans. don't overdo on the gasket material if it is a sealant. don't know about if needing more than the master kit, never ovehauled one, just watched a trans person overhaul a couple of honda trans.

hey dinwiddie1985 did you ever rebuild that tranny? I bought a used 99 Accord that now has 314K miles and the tranny has been slipping crazy like and I am contemplating rebuilding the tranny myself as well. Was wondering how it went??
