New Accord Issues
 

Hi,

Just purchased a 09 Accord 4-cylinder EX-L over the weekend, and noticed a couple of things. Does anyone have similar observations, or understand the causes?

1. When pulling to a full stop, say waiting for a red light, I noticed that the engine was still working and generated some vibration. It was not too bad, but I remember how quiet a brand new camery was, and started to wonder whether this is per design.

2. In the trunk where the spare tire is stored, there is gel-like stripes on the metal sheets around, two in black color, and one in white color (closer to the side of rear bumper). They certainly look ugly. What are these gels? Do they come with every new car?

When I drive my Accord on about 65, 70 miles per hour the noise level is really low, but it is noisier than a camery on about 20, 30 miles per hour
