New Honda Accord driver

I just recently purchased a 2003 Honda Accord DX with 233,000 miles. I'm new to the Honda community, I've been a GM guy all my life. I'm looking to do an oil change and was just wondering what brands of motor oil do youbguys reccomere, and should I be using regular or synthetic? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thabsk again.

welcome to the forum.. I use what the factory/dealership uses, syn 5w-20 mobil 1, high milage . but with fram filter. you can go on ebay or autozone, Walmart and pick up the oil and filter there. less cost. also use Honda only trans fluid.

Thanks man I appreciate the info. I've used mobile 1 in my Chevy. They make some pretty good Motor oil and like you said Walmart always has the best prices. Good to know about the trans fluid as well. I also saw that Honda nakes their own synthetic blend motor oil as well.

since you have 233k miles, keep your eyes open for a good used engine for the future, unless you decide to sell or trade the accord in. you'll find lots of good used engines at salvage yards and ways to get it shipped to you for your car in the future. also you can check on line Honda parts at good prices, our on line sponsor carid also has a lot of Honda parts available. ebay has a lot of salvage yards that sell American parts, they sometimes carry foreign cars but do not put them on the sales list, you can email them and ask if they carry the part. also on line google accord parts or a specific part and you will get salvage yards that respond.
