octane booster in 90 accord
im still working on my accord trying to get it tuned up just right. and i have been hearing alot of good stuff about octane boosters... im just wanting to know if they are actually worth the $8-12 every fill up. if its going to actually help with compression like people are saying ang help gas im totall for it. i just want a little more expert opinion

not an expert, but have tried octane boosters in many of my vehicles, no improvement in hp, milage, performance, etc, just spending money. I have put in 100 low lead fuel in performance cars, and runs great and smooth. Most Honda's use no lead regular unless you raised the compression on your engine to a higher than stock level.
If you put higher octane in your car, it would not do any better. just spending more money for similar output. if you put in a cold intake, exhaust headers, cat back, turbo type muffler, change the crank pulley to aluminum, platnium plugs, high capacity plug wires, advance timing, ( then put in high octane fuel) this will help the engine out a bit. |
the octane booster have been proven to not make any difference. dont waste ur money in the octane booster. seafoam and injector cleaner yes its worth it but no to the octane booster

spend your money on good parts during tune ups. syn oil, kn oil filters, iridium plugs etc etc.
