Overheating 93 Honda Accord
Here's what went down, car just started to overheat so I decided to change the thermostat....come to find out the thermostat was broken off. Don't know why someone would do that unless it froze and they broke it off just to get by. Did the change over yesterday and was just wondering if I should give it a while to balance out or should I start worrying about another problem that might occur. THank you for any input.....

I looked into it a little bit, good chance it could be a blown head gasket

A sure sign of a blown head gasket is a ticking sound and white smoke from the exhaust.

If it was just the thermostat then once your replace it you should be fine.. chances are that it was locking up due to being messed up causing the motor not to get any coolant.. if it continues too over heat then its probably a head gasket. A little tip if it is the head gasket, Find a small time private mechanic right outside of the city.. most of them will do work for dirt cheap.. my mechanic just replaced my head gasket, timing belt, clutch and machined the head for 400$ (i already had the head gasket and clutch i bought from the internet so i didnt have to pay for parts)

I have heard the ticking sound and white smoke does come from the exhaust.....$#@% thanx guys I was hoping it wasn't but I knew deep down that this was the problem
one more thing where do you get parts offline for a good price |
