Persistant CEL

Recently my 1990 Honda accord was throwing a cel engine light for the crank position sensor which put it into limp mode. Since what I found on all data said the crank sensor was in the distributor I replaced the distributor and re-times the car but the engine light is still there and the cars still in limp mode.
is there a way to clear the light since it’s obd1 or is there another problem with the car

Wow, the crankshaft sensor is in the distributor. Manual says to replace the distributor. Ok, having done that, ... was it oem part or aftermarket part. Not all new parts are good parts.
Having said that, you will need to check the wiring. Look up all data schematics for cps (crank position sensor). Check the integrity of wiring. Continuity, short to hot or short to ground.
Clear code by dis-connecting battery for a few minutes. Make sure you have radio code.
