Default question on mounting tires with sensors

I am looking at buying a new 09 EX-L that has the tire pressure sensors. I want to install snow tires. Can a regular service station do this or does it have to be taken to Honda ?
Second. I thought about getting a second set of inexpensive rims with snows mounted from Tire Rack. They show that if I opt for the sensors on thier rims, its another $400.00
Is it necessary to have the sensors on these after market or will it screw up the computer if the rims dont have the sensors
Thanks

Default RE: question on mounting tires with sensors

hey i work at a honda dealership and we get these questions all the time, you can mount the new rims with no sensors but your tire pressure light will be on all the time, if you do have someone else mount tires there is a possibilty that the sensors will break if they dont use the tire machine right but very rare. And if new sensors are purchased the dealer needs to re-initialize them for them to be set up with the tmps main computer
