Stuck bolt on timing-belt pulley
Hey guys, I've got a 95 accord with a f22b1 that's got a bolt stuck on the bottom timing belt pulley. It's the one that's attached to the crankshaft. I should change my timing belt, since it's been long enough (the belt's in visibly good condition, though). We tried using an impact wrench to get it off, heat applied by a propane blowtorch (we think the previous owner put Loctite on the threads), spraying it liberally with wd40 and letting it soak for 2 days, a breaker bar/long ratchet with the bottom timing pulley held by a pipe wrench, a bigger impact wrench, and nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting this bolt off?

warm up the block around the bolt, and chill the bolt then try the impact wrench.

I know years ago we had this problem with a big block 429 Ford and I tried everything, as A last resort I struck the bolt head on dead center with a large ballpeen hammer and then tried it ,it came loose,I think the blow loosened it .I have tried this method several times over the years and it works 9 out of 10 times.

Try a different impact (ingersol titanium is very torquey) and rock trigger back and forth between tighten and loosen every 3-5 seconds. Don't smack this bolt with a hammer due to possible damage to thrust bearing. Good luck.
