Transmission

I have a 2002 accord coupe 2.3L W/Vtech. My transmission is automatic and hits 1st and 2nd gear pretty hard. The trans has 240xxx miles on it and I want to know if there is anything I can do that will make the trans run a lot better. I’ve also looked into just buying a new transmission for the car but i want to see what I can do. Should I just buy the same trans for my model or is there other options out there like different transmissions that can fit in my car. Looking for any help and any advice.

welcome to the forum: you've got some good miles on that trans. only thing i can suggest is to take it to a shop that works on hondas and uses only honda fluid and have them change the fluid, may take a couple of times, it may smooth out. if not you might consider replacing the trans of have it overhauled by a reputable shop.
