transmission slip

I'm driving a 97 Accord with about 200k.

When I leave the house in the morning the transmission(auto) slips a little when shifting from 2nd to 3rd and from 3rd to 4th.

This only happens when the engine is cold, and generally only in the morning before the outside temp warms up.

Anyone ever heard of something like this? If so, please tell me replacing a transmission is not in my near future.

Thanks

Ok, got some advice. The pressure is highest when the transmission is in reverse believe it or not. To try to get debri out out try this and you might have success without a rebuild or teardown. Put the car in reverse going up a slight hill for about 40 yards and make sure to bring it up to a pretty high speed that way. I heard someone say that it did wonders for a mercedez, and this someone is a master tech so his word is credible. I hope this helps!
