wrong transmission fluid on 99 honda accord v6

i had a a bad front end wreck on my 99 honda accord v6 ex 3.0 with 177 on the dash and it damaged the radiator and condenser. I ended up having to refill the transmission fluid due to the damage. I never had any problems with my tranny so I didnt do any research on it and just went to autozone and bought some normal trans fluid that goes to foreign cars (it said hondas). I put it in and ran thru the gears like i was told but afterwards the D4 started flashing and it revs to about 2500 to start taking off from a dead start after it hits what i feel is second then picks up like normal. I immeadiatly took to the internet and found out that i should only put honda atf-1 fluid so i drained it and put the OEM fluid in but the D4 stayed flashing and the problem continued. i took it to my uncle that works for nissan (next door to my local dealership) becasue my altornator belt broke and asked him about it and he told me that i prob needed to put in an addidative but before i do i needed advice on what to do. SHOULD I FLUSH IT or have i trashed the tranny?

you may have messed up the tranny, drain the fluid, pan, lines every amount of fluid you can get out and refill with Honda trans fluid from honda dealer. drive it around the block and change it again. hope it clears out the aftermarket fluid and gets the trans back to good. if not, trans messed up..

Yah,change it now, twice to get the fluid out of the converter.

Trans is most likely dead and no the trans fluid you added didn't kill it

Now after the accident.....the car still drove and shifted great the coolent lines weren't disturbed until he had to swap out the bent radiator and the car still drove fine till he put the wrong transmission fluid in....so your saying that when the wrong fluid hit it....then it killed it?
