1984 honda civic turbo!!!
ok so i have a 3g civic actually a 1984 honda civic 1500s and i got a really good deal on a turbo kit... i think the guy has everything and wants to basically give it away!! i know he has the turbo, intercooler, hoses, exhaust manifold, and a few other parts i dont know wat they are... all i need he says is a boost controller, but the problem is that my engine is completely stock!! i def dont want to blow my engine but he told me if i turn the boost down it shouldnt be a prob...
wat i want to know is wat other parts will i need to complete this mod? it is apparently bolt on with no mods so wat other parts will i need to make it work?? and also will it blow my engine? even if i get a boost controller and turn it down? thanks in advance for ur replies!!! peace

Dude you're getting yourself into a lot. You can't just slap on a turbo, I'm not sure about your specific year of Civic, but with stock internals you might be able to get away with like 5lbs. but you still need some modifying. You need to upgrade your complete fuel system, i.e. fuel rails, injectors, and fuel pump. Also you'll probably need to run a larger diameter exhaust. You need a tune. I suggest if you do go this route, build your engine first, in the long run you'll keep the reliability of your engine. Like I said, I'm a Subaru guy and the only Civics I have some knowledge of are EG's and EK's, so I'm not really sure about the internals for your particular Civic. Hope this helped.

1984 civic you can handle a max of 5psi for about ehh 5-8 thousand miles if your lucky. look into rebuilding the fuel system like mike says. a key part would be to also build your intenals. that car is 25 years old i dont think it could handle much more that what its doing now. look into rods pistons you should go with a new crank. in a car that old a turbo will be a lot of work to do it safely.
