1990 hatchback problems
my1990 civic hatchback is having some trouble. i know its old but it is a honda! it has 340,000 miles on it, just to let everyone know. but the problem is that it keeps dying while driving. if i gain some RPMs and i'm about to put it into 2nd gear the check engine light comes on and the car loses power. i can't really think of anything else to say about. if anyone has any idea or any more questions about it please say something! thanks!!

RE: 1990 hatchback problems
i believe your car may be having a problem with the ECU. this also happend to my friend who had a automatic ECU with a manual tranny.. so if you have done a 5 speed swap make sure u changed ure ecu. if you have not done a swap and it just started dying out of nowhere the only thing i can say is that you need to do a diagnose.. if you need help let me know i can show you where to start..

RE: 1990 hatchback problems
i haven't even thought to look at the ECU when the check engine light is on. i'll drive the car around this evening and if/when the check engine light comes on i'll make note of the blinks. thanks

RE: 1990 hatchback problems
ok well do you know how to do a check with the engine light test? and match the blinks with the error codes?
