1992 Honda Civic DX Blows "Stop/Horn" fuse
Got a 1992 Honda Civic DX that keeps blowing the 20 Amp fuse for the "Stop/Horn" that is next to the fuse holder next to the car battery (under the hood). As soon as I add a new fuse it blows it immediately.
Current problem, my stop lights (brake lights) and my horn is not working. Does anyone know what the problem could be? If it is a short, where can it be? I think it may be where the Horn is, but I can't seem to find it under the hood. Any troubleshooting steps that you can give me that can help me find the short. I am very capable of doing tests with test lights and volmeters that I currently own. |
RE: 1992 Honda Civic DX Blows "Stop/Horn" fuse
If you could get a hold of a wiring schematic for the horn/stop circuit, it'll be a lot more useful. But your short is most likely before the load, its grounding itself out somewhere between the fuse and the load, that is ur best bet to look.

RE: 1992 Honda Civic DX Blows "Stop/Horn" fuse
I have a 1992 Honda Accord EX and I'm having the exact same problem, but I know very little about troubleshooting/fixing this myself. Can anyone advise whether this is a major effort and expense to have repaired and if not, would it require a special type of mechanic to fix it?
