Default 2002 civic ex need help pin pointing the problem

I have a 2002 Honda Civic EX Auto Trans. When the car is in Park there are mult clicking/ticking sound in my shift ****. I can feel the shift interlock mechanism is moving on his own without me applying the brake or doing anything.

Yet when I press and hold on brake or when the car is in reverse, neutral, drive, or any gear..this doesn't happen(no more clicking/ticking sound). Car drives fine and no slip on transmission (so I don't think theres any problem with the transmission), I have been driving this car for more than 6 months.

I believe the problem is from the Shift interlock mechanism, something is triggering the shift interlock mechanism automatically and continuously, which explain the clicking sound.

Does someone know about this problem and know how to fix it. The sound is really annoying sometime and I am afriad something will eventually break if this keeps up. Right now everytime i start up my car i press brake to avoid this problem.

Thanks for your help.
