2007 Honda Civic LX - $6500. Is it worth it?

Hi guys, I am new to this forum and have been lurking on here for the past few weeks. I am actively looking for a used Honda Civic with a budget of $6000-$9000 and recently came across this unit for sale. It's a 2007 LX coupe, it has 146,000 miles on it.

The car's descriptions from the owner:

I'm selling my 2007 Honda Civic LX that is in great conditions. It drives very smoothly. It is a manual transmission which is fun as well as a little more gas efficient that the automatic transmission. It has a 4 cyl engine but it is still very powerful. Everything is automatic. Tires still have a lot of life left to it. This car is great in gas it gives about 35 MPG also depending on how you drive the car. The windows are tinted. A/C and heater work great. It is a very fun sporty car. I am selling it because I'm a student and need the money. Please feel free to call or text at anytime to come take a look at it.

Here is a few pictures of the car: http://imgur.com/XK7k6Yo,Ep9yVgt,wPW...eEYO,E4fTJRL#0

It is priced at $6500 and my question is, is it worth it? It is being sold by a private party so I imagine there is still room for negotiation.

Thanks!

Test drive it, KBB it and do a CarFax

If you can test drive it, see what the going price is on Kelly Blue Book private party and run a CarFax on cars history. KBB should give you a good range on price and I recently lost out on my last civic sale. KBB gave me a range on my 2007 Civic Hybrid with 95k mikes and I knocked a few hundred off due to hole in carpet and few minor dings. 2 hours after posting on Craigslist I had to shut phone off for the night and sold car to first caller at asking with cash. I was even offered a few hundred more sight unseen. I didn't realize the demand for used civics. With that I'd really check the car out and have a mechanic or even dealership inspect also. Researching the car is worth the time and energy.

unfortunately you can't trust people so you always want to have a used car checked buy a mechanic if they say no then move on.
