2010 Civic transmission problem
Hi all,
My appogies if I posted this in the wrong location or of the subject was already covered. I'm new here and did a search but didn't find what I was looking for. So any input would be appreciated. I just bought a 2010 Honda Civic with 62000 miles on it. From carmax.nafter driving the car for a couple of days, I realized there was a problem wth the transmission. I returned it for the to check it Out. And I did so with in the first 5 days , so any repairs will be free. Carmax policy. The verified my concern and are in the process of getting it into a local transmission shop. Since I handled this in their 5 day window, I also have the option of exchanging the vehicle (or canceling the sale I believe). So.... My question. Is it better to have them repair/rebuild/replace the transmission or take a gamble on a different civic. My gut says Its better for me to have a newly repaired or replaced transmission then taking a gamble on another vehicle. Because who knows if another civic will have the same problems down the road. And potentially after any warranties. Thoughts. Thanks for any help. Jim |
Welcome to the forum. If carmax gives you a warranty on the trans mission n car. It should be ok. Trans cost about 2400 to do a good overhaul or rebuilt. Should be a good trans if done right.

automatic transmissions are extremely difficult to rebuild if its not done to the T then its going to go bad you need to find somebody very reliable to do it. your best option is to find a low mileage trans and just swap it out.
