'97 Civic cutting out on the road.
 

I have a '97 civic ex that I bought back in april. on a rainy day, a few weeks ago, I was driving when the engine suddenly cut off right in the middle of the road (the power stayed strong the whole time though). about 20 minutes later, it just cut back on and I got it to my house. I figured something must have gotten wet (even though everything looked dry under the hood), so the next day I drove it. again, it cut out on the road. long story short, I've since replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump and fuel pump relay and it cut out on me again. what else could the problem be?

check your ignition coil. Ohm out the primary and secondary side. also check rotor button and dist. cap. sounds similiar to what mine did.

Ohm is on all digital meters usually. It is shaped like a horseshoe. it will read in ohms, Kilo-ohms, and Mega-ohms. Stop by parts store and measure resistance on a new one and then test yours. I do that with all plug wires and sensors. saves money if you diagnose correctly. Haynes manual will tell u what the values should measure.

it can surely save a lot of money for you. had used this a couple of months back to repair the oxygen sensor problem on my 97 civic. you might end up saving quite a few bucks with the help of this tool.
