Civic 2002 Engine Stops While Driving
Just a week ago, I sent my Civic 2002 LXI Automatic to a repair shop because the engine stops while I'm driving. (Just imagine how it feels when you're on the highway and the engine suddently stops). The mechanic told me to tune it up. So it was tuned up. After a day, the same thing happened. The mechanic told me to replace fuel filter, timing belt (because the usage is already 160k), and crank sensor. It was running fine until it happened again today and it happened 3 times in span of 3 minutes!
What else could be the problem? Can hot weather condition affects the car? |

the same thing happened to a friend of mine...He also did useless repairs for a couple weeks then found out his intake manifold had a crack in it. could be the same reason... easy way to check is turn the car on and with a spray bottle, spray on and around the manifold looking for pressure bubbles of air trying to escape through the water.having someone apply the gas will help build pressure...GOOD LUCK

hi matt162b: welcome to the forum, enjoy your stay. Got a question pertaining to the intake manifold leak, explain to me how an intake manifold will have pressure to "blow out airleaks" when using water to test for leaks as you suggested to check for. I'm trying to learn moreabout intakeleaks.
