??? D series 4 speed manual trans will it fit...

Okay...Background. I have raced (circle track asphalt) since 1988. Almost all less than one mile. Most V8, from street stock to NASCAR Late Model and two excursions into ARCA. We built 4-5 4cyl front wheel drive Hondas around 2000. We ended up winning about 40 races and a couple of track championships in them. Here's the problem. We built the cars and hired a Honda Guru to build the engines and transmissions. I should have paid attention and asked questions, but I didn't. I'm building two more and I'm stumped. When we ran one track, we ran a 4 speed manual in second gear. I think the ratio was 1.65. The other track was a five speed in third gear and I can't remember the ratio. I think the D-Series base model Civic was the only one that had a 4 speed and it was only from 89-90-91. I don't remember what series engine we ran, but it was a 1.6 vetc, I do know that. Now I'm trying to do this without my Guru (no idea where he is now). Will a D series 4 speed manual work on a B16A3? I know that the original B16A was used in some base models in 1991 but I have no idea if they used the same 4 speed.

On one 1/4 track we ran 10.29 (high banked) and the other one was a flat track and we ran 16.30's. Anyway .. Any help would be appreciated. I'm not good with Hondas, but if you need any help with suspension and set up on a Late Model stock car, I can help. By the way .. This doesn't really matter, but it's going in a 1995 Civic hatchback. Well it was until we got our hands on it anyway.

Oh yeah .. I keep having flashbacks. According to literature, the 4 speeds only came on 1.5 liters but I'm sure we ran one on a 1.6 liter. Which series I don't know. I respect y'all Honda guys. Y'all have a lot more to remember than I ever have.
