Default d15 rough (1-4k rpm) & build up

Newbie to the sight here. ’94 civic dx. 209K miles. Rebulit head about 20K miles ago. I bought it from a girl who drove the car, over heated it, and blew a head gasket. Car heated to the point where it cut off, but it still ran after it cooled down. Blew a hole in the radiator b/c it got so hot and melted some of it. I drove the car before she bought it b/c I was helpin out, and then I bought it from her. Removed the head, and replaced the gasket, and drove it for the first time. Drove funny, and was still spitting white smoke; so I thought I blew the head gasket again, thinking that the head may be warped, but it stopped spitting smoke, so the head isn’t warped and runs pretty good, but still some problems.

When im accelerating, it studdards , almost as if it is misfiring, and has very little power(a lot less than the d15 motor that it already has in that 1-4k rpm range) But as soon as it hits 4K rpm, it picks up just fine and accelerates fine and has what feels like normal power.

More Info: in the process of replacing the head gasket, I did a compression test and the result were as follows:
Test #1 Test #2 Test #3
Piston # Piston #
(added oil to seal rings) (added more oil)
1. 75 psi 1. 145 1. 225
2. 100psi 2. 175
3. 120 psi 3. 180
4. 130 psi 4.165

So does my compression have to do with my rough running? Or is this something else?

Also; any ideas how to save some weight on the car b/c im strippin it?

also any ideas on power adders? i have headers, stripped a/c, power steering, excess weight, intake on the way, possibly a vtec head with ECU conversion kit and chipped!!!

wecome to the forum. sorry for such a slow response, lost a family member on the day you posted. the low compression can be the cause, are your spark plugs and plug wires all in good condition. also to lighten up the car, my son changed windows to plastic inserts. on back seats, no spare. gets real warm in the summer.
