does anybody know what the diameter is of the exhaust pipe on a97 honda civic?

 

stock 1 7/8 in

 

I'm gonna put a muffler on my civic, will putting a 2 inch pipe mess up the engine?Wouldit sound pretty much the same with a 1 7/8 inch pipe?

 

2 in pipe will allow gas to flow better, putting on a good flow larger bore muffler is better, tone of exhaust will be lower, mellow and tough at high end, not like a moped ( I got one) Check the size of your cat outlet and see if you can put a 2 in or larger pipe. to match the muffler inlet side. will not hurt your engine

 

just be aware of ur city's laws....i live in Kalifornia, and got busted for

but yea, exhausts are nice tho..
