Default Exhaust

Just got myself a new sport exhaust today (woho) and went under the car to install it, but noticed the long line of metal thingy before the original muffler, don't know the english word, was welded to the muffler, so I'll have to cut it off in order to install the new muffler and then weld it to that. Or is there an easier way to do this?

It's a d14a4 97 saloon

Sorry for my English, and lack of knowledge

Nvm fixed it, and working like a charm. Great new sound to my honda now <3
