Lightbulb Honda del sol worth it? 3,100 miles

Alright I've been debating buying a honda del sol to commute from home to college, about a 45 minute drive, 3 days a week. It is a 1993 with a brand new Mugen engine imported right from japan. EVERYTHING in the car is aftermarket, some things its got into it are:hid headlights, coil overs, 18 inch wheels and tires, drilled and slotted rotors, forged internals, turbocharger running 15 lbs boost, bov, cold air intake, computer engine controller, ss header with 3 inch exhaust, 2 stage clutch, 550cc injectors, edlebrock intake, heavy duty mounts, and so much more. Now my brother thinks he's a proffessional mechanic at the age of 18 and says that after 1,000 miles on it im gonna have to start fixing things already. Would this be the case? and how much will all of the mods reduce gas mileage? I'm just trying to see if it is worth investing 5700 into it. KBB says 5,125 in excellent condition and that's with the stock engine and it is definitely in excellent condition. Feed back?

how do you know its imported ??? and no you never buy cars that have been moded to that extent because i can guarantee that the car has been beat to death . so buy at your own risk i would suggests a stock car.
